I would recommend. They let you have full access to the HTML file as well as the CSS file (style). It’s perfect for copy and paste coding.

I’ve tried a number of free Web site builders and they mainly all have problems. The biggest problem I’ve found is that most of them aren’t cross-browser compatible or standards compliant, so you really need to know HTML and CSS to be able to tweak the code to get it right.
isn’t bad, but you have to host it on their servers.
isn’t bad, you get a free builder with hosting.

Coffee Cup isn’t free, but you get a free trial so you can try it out. Excellent program.

Free isn’t necessarily good and you’ll find many problems with free ones.

Not sure what you mean about putting HTML scripts into your Web site. HTML isn’t scripts. it’s a markup language.

I have tried quite a few Kompozer, Freewebs, microsoft office live, and a few more but the winner for me has to be Bluevoda. Great video tutorials on every aspect of the site, has everything in the “how to” range. Yes you do have to use their web-hosting but again excellent value $ 7.95 per month if you pay annually or $ 9.95 pay by the month. Guaranteed no extra to pay that includes free domain. I built a site in an hour and it went live as soon as I hit the publish button and entered my password. If you want to put up and ecommerce site they have a website builder called soholaunch that is soooo easy to use. You can;t go wrong with this at all.
