What is a good website or book that explains basics for make-up?

I am going to start wearing make-up but I really have no clue about how to put it on or how to find my right colors. Do you have anything that can help me, preferably a book or a website?

i don’t know about a book or a website, i don’t think they’ll give you a good explanation since you need to see and do for you self how its done. i suggest going to a mac store or a Macy’s counter and they teach you the basics for a small fee. or you could do what i did and go to a sephora store and they teach you and tell you what shades and things work best with your skin.

Read “Making Faces” by the great, beloved and dearly missed Kevyn Aucoin. He will show and tell you all the basics of makeup fundamentals.
