I need to make a simple website–some text and graphics, but nothing complicated. I don’t know HTML, but I really don’t want to buy a program like Dreamweaver or Publisher to make it.
What can I download or use online to build a website to upload to a host?

If your current internet provider is Earthlink, AOL, SBC Global and others which provide a homepage; you can easily FTP your own webpage designs as a new homepage. Try using the freebie HTML authoring tool called Composer which comes free with any Netscape browser. And using a redirection service such as mydomain.com or the forwarding of a parked domain name at godaddy.com, you can easily “mask” the homepage URL with a proper domain name. So in a sense, you have a working ecommerce website disguised as a homepage while still paying your normal monthly Internet access and hosting fee.
Good luck!
