You’re on Yahoo! That’s a good start! Go to and use your Yahoo! id to make a new account. I wrote my own page, but I know there’s a page builder implemented. Or you might consider using Frontpage Express or some other page builder freeware.
Unfortunately, urls don’t come free. But Geocities is really nice. It’s geocities.com/YourUserName. Plus, there are very nonobtrusive ads. It’s my favorite.

Google lets you create websites, however I’m sure “google” will be somewhere in the web address.
Godaddy.com is pretty cheap for registering your own domain name, as little as 5 to 10 bucks a year, but you have to have your own host to host the website which carries additional costs (and these vary by host).
You can setup your own free website at The Village (www.thevillage.com). You don’t need to buy a domain name (but you can if you want to), you don’t pay for hosting, and you don’t need any programming or design experience.
