[a hw question] Does a advertisement on a website make the website less valid? –i know it does but i don’t really know how to say what im thinking.. can anybody help speak what im thinking?

    I think people relate certain companies as “highbrow” or “lowbrow”, or as popular or in the loser lane of pop culture, so the pedigree of who markets on your page could help or hurt. Someone who is well established, like Geico (for instance), would even lend credence to a site – that they believe enough people hit it to make an ad worthwhile there. Some little guy no one ever heard of would have the opposite effect.

    A site with no marketing at makes people think, aahh, this is a site that stands on it’s own – doesn’t need “help” to survive. Or they think it’s “purely” educational or informational.
