I can sense your a beginner and looking for a few options.
1) You can pay for a domain, write a few articles and sell some advertising or products. (I saw your not selling but just putting it as an option)
2) You can make a blog and write on a topic that interests you and ad some advertising. If you go down this path just use as its the easiest.
Your options are then what sort of advertising to use. I recommend you use for any links that go to another site. Google Adsense can be used for advertising as well (at the same time as)
Of course the profit you make will generally rely heavily on the traffic you can attract to your site. If you have a good site and can attract a large amount of traffic then you can make a decent income from it. Generally though its hard work and its easier spending 10 mins a day promoting your links (from) on various sites and forums

If you are not planning to sell anything then you can use Google Adsense to bring in profits. But to make money with Adsense you will need lots of traffic. To get lots of free traffic you will need to search engine optimize your site. That takes alot of time and is not easy. The system I use does all that for you and enables you to rank high in Google and other search engines.
