What is the average length to build a website?

For professional web builders, what is the average time it takes you to build a decent website?

For amateurs, same question.

For my gold award, I’m creating a web site, and I don’t know what I should put down for estimated time.

Thanks in advance.

It all depends upon the size of the web site you are building. If you are just building a basic site with 3-5 pages I can get it done in an afternoon. I doubt you’d want to put that down as a time frame.

What type of website are you creating? What are you hoping it will do?

It depends on so many things. I could put together a simple html page or install a Wordpress-based site in an hour or two, if I had the content, which is a big if. But graphics and photos can take a huge amount of time. Css menus, flash, javascript, and php scripting can add functionality to the site and loads of time to the initial setup.

The question would have to be what you wanted the website to do. A site can take weeks to set up, even by a person who is experienced, or it can take a whole team to build it.

Depends on what kind of website. For example a simple blog with a few links and Iframe would only take me about 5 hours (including graphics not just html) It all just depends it could take you a whole week d:
