Try TeacherEase. If you are one of the first 3 people in your school to use it, you get it for free for at least one year. My district has even decided to pay for it now since so many of us had tried it and liked it. Go to this website for additional information and a chance to pilot the program for free in your building. We love it, and have had less problems with parents since they can go online and see everything their kids are doing (or not) in class.

- Quickly create a page that better describes your website. The web editor is super easy to use.

- Add slide shows and photo’s using photobucket or just upload your photo’s right to your website

- Preview the finished page and send the link to your friends and family
It takes only a few minutes to do but can mean the difference.

The creators can be reached by skype or email and they are wonderful about helping teachers. The site is free, and they will help you with learning how to use it as well as adding features you might need that are not available. (The site is so easy to use you won’t need them.) They really are interested in helping teachers. Contact them, you will be glad that you did.

Scholastic provides free website…also many districts provide you with a website. You may want to check the website of the school you were hired. Look for links to other teacher’s webpages.

I highly suggest Scholastic.com! It’s totally free and very easy to use. You can just insert a link on your school’s site linking to the Scholastic homepage. Good luck!

You might check to see if your district already has a server that could host your page… many schools do, and that would make it easy and free for your class page to go live. As far as building the page goes, there are many good programs out there that are very easy to use. I built my own class page in Microsoft Word… just as easy as creating a regular document, but you “save as” a web page instead of document type file. I have also used Netscape Composer (built into their browser), and it is quite comparable in terms of flexibility and ease of use. Good luck!

Schoolnotes.com is the best! It’s also Free! You can create a calendar, list important dates, list favorite links, and an email link. If you choose to pay for the upgrade, it’s about $15.00 a year to add color and other details to your page.
